Meet Jeanette
Jeanette Hogg — My Journey to Creating MindLines™
For most of my life, I’ve been fascinated by how people think, learn, and grow — largely because my own learning journey was anything but traditional. Living with dyslexia meant that the classroom often felt like a battlefield. I couldn’t learn in the same linear way others did, and for years, that created deep frustration, self-doubt, and stress. The constant pressure to “keep up” eventually led to burnout, depression, and physical symptoms that were my body’s way of saying enough.
My turning point came when I discovered mind mapping — a technique that changed everything. Suddenly, I saw how my brain worked radially, not in straight lines. Using colors, doodles, and non-linear notes, I could finally make sense of complex ideas and remember information easily. This discovery became my gateway into studying neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to rewire itself — and set me on a lifelong path of learning how to calm, retrain, and empower the mind.
My coaching certifications through Co-Active Coaching and ORSC (Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching) deepened my understanding of human behavior and team dynamics. In my business career, I found myself intuitively using these creative tools to coach teams, take notes, brainstorm ideas, and document insights — long before realizing I was applying neuroscience in action.
Becoming a Nia teacher was another revelation. Movement, I learned, isn’t just physical — it transforms our state of mind. It unlocks creativity, emotional balance, and connection. Nia taught me that the body and brain are partners in healing and learning.
All of this inspired the creation of MindLines™ — a synthesis of art, coaching and neuroscience. Every technique — from journaling in color to Neurographica drawing — is designed to reprogram the stressed brain, replacing rigidity with flow, confusion with clarity, and exhaustion with inspired focus.
MindLines™ isn’t just a course. It’s a pathway back to calm, creativity, and critical thinking — and, for me, it’s the life-saving proof that we can all rewire our minds for joy and purpose.
Meet Ferdi
Ferdi Appelgryn — The science voice of MindLines™
Ferdi has a rare gift: he takes the complexity of the brain and turns it into something beautifully simple, human, and empowering.
His work centres on helping people understand how their nervous system shapes their thoughts, emotions, and behaviour — and how creativity can gently rewire old patterns into new possibilities. Ferdi believes that when people understand what’s happening inside their bodies and minds, they regain control. They stop feeling “broken” or “overwhelmed” and start feeling capable, calm, and clear.
Within MindLines™, Ferdi opens the door to the biological magic behind every technique. He explains why curved lines calm the system, why colour changes emotional tone, why journaling organizes the mind, and how small daily practices can literally reshape the brain.
His teaching is practical, warm and deeply human. No jargon, no judgment. Just truth, clarity, and tools that work in real life.
Ferdi’s purpose in this program is simple: to show people that their mind is not the enemy — it’s an ally that can be retrained, rewired, and reawakened.
Once the science makes sense, transformation becomes inevitable.
Core Values
Of the MindLines™ Program
Intellectual Honesty
(Truth-Seeking)
MindLines is founded on the unwavering commitment to truth-seeking. This means:
- Prioritizing evidence over personal comfort, convenience, or deeply held biases.
- Willingness to change one’s mind when confronted with superior evidence or logic.
- Admitting uncertainty and acknowledging the limits of one’s own knowledge (Cognitive Humility).
In the classroom, this value translates to transparent self-correction and modeling vulnerability.
Constructive Skepticism (Questioning)
This value is about building a habit of productive questioning, not corrosive cynicism.
- Questioning assumptions: Challenging the unspoken premises underlying arguments, data, and conclusions.
- Distinguishing between doubt and rejection: Encouraging students to pause and evaluate sources and claims, rather than immediately dismissing or accepting them.
- Demanding clarity and precision: Insisting on well-defined terms and rigorous, articulate reasoning.
Empathy in Discourse (Respectful Dialogue)
Critical thinking must operate within a framework of social responsibility and respect. This value ensures that critical analysis does not become hostile.
- The Principle of Charity: Interpreting an opponent’s argument in the strongest, most reasonable way possible before offering a critique.
- Separating the person from the position: Critiquing the logic, data, or structure of an argument, never the character or identity of the person making it.
- Creating psychological safety: Fostering a learning environment where students feel safe to voice half-formed thoughts and incorrect conclusions without fear of ridicule.
Cognitive Autonomy
(Self-Reliant Thinking)
The ultimate goal of MindLines is to make students independent thinkers.
- Ownership of thought: Empowering students to take responsibility for the quality of their own reasoning and decision-making.
- Resisting manipulation: Developing the ability to identify manipulative rhetoric, logical fallacies, and framing techniques used in media and advertising.
- Developing a personal compass: Providing the tools necessary for students to navigate complex moral, social, and professional choices based on sound reasoning, not simply external authority.
Curiosité Permanente
(Lifelong Exploration)
This value anchors critical thinking in a spirit of continuous, enthusiastic learning.
- Intrinsic motivation: Framing the process of investigation and discovery as inherently rewarding.
- Embracing complexity: Moving beyond black-and-white thinking to appreciate the nuance and interconnectedness of systems.
- The love of ‘Why?’: Prioritizing the act of exploration and the satisfaction of building robust mental models over merely finding quick, simple answers.
